EN — Teufelsberg - "the devil’s hill" - is the highest point of Berlin. On the top of this artificial hill, remains a former american spying station from the cold war. During the 90es, after the reunification, an important economic boom happened in Berlin and an investor group bought the hill in order to construct luxury lofts there. Nevertheless, the building boom of Berlin overproduced, thus "the apartments of the devil's hill" building project became unprofitable and was aborted. In 2007, a sign remains on the top of the hill, still displaying the website address of the project. Teufelsberg leads the visitor to consult this website through a poster representing the advertising sign. Instead of the aborted building project, the website is displaying an online video : from the increased 90’s capitalism to the 2007 remnants – interrupted by the cold war’s memory ideologies.
FR — Teufelsberg – la colline du diable – est le point le plus haut de Berlin. Cette colline artificielle présente à son sommet une ancienne station d’espionnage américaine conçue pendant la guerre froide. Dans les années 1990, alors que Berlin connaît une croissance économique après la réunification, un groupe d’investisseurs achête la colline à la ville afin d’y bâtir hôtels et lofts luxueux. Cependant, le boom économique fut peu de temps après suivit d’un crash de surproduction. Le projet des "appartements de la colline du diable" devint ainsi non rentable et fut stoppé. En 2007, un panneau publicitaire se trouve toujours au sommet de la colline, arborant l’adresse du site internet du projet immobilier.
Le visiteur est incité a aller consulter ce site internet par le biais d’une affiche au mur représentant le panneau publicitaire. En lieu et place du projet d’habitations avorté, Teufelsberg présente une vidéo en ligne : du capitalisme accru des années 90 aux vestiges de 2007 - interrompu par la mémoire des idéologies de la guerre froide.

EN - In January 2008, David Lynch bought the hill to build a university of transcendental meditation on its summit. An updated version of Teufelsberg presents, as an extension of the original poster, a mural collage drawing on the imagery of transcendental meditation.
