GAËLLE BOUCAND
FR - Gaëlle Boucand est cinéaste. Plasticienne de formation, ses films expérimentent différentes formes et narrations à la frontière des genres et des domaines. Ils s’intéressent souvent à des personnes ou des communautés dont les histoires, empreintes de migrations, résonnent avec des situations historiques, sociales et politiques particulières. En 2010, Partis pour Croatan, réalisé avec une communauté de raveur, est exposé notamment au Musée d'Art Moderne de la ville de Paris. Son deuxième film, JJA — premier volet d'une trilogie — dresse le portrait d'un exilé fiscal en Suisse. Il reçoit la mention du Grand Prix au FID 2012, le Grand Prix au festival Coté Court et est également diffusé au sein de multiples institutions artistiques internationales (Kunsthalle Mannheim, Centre Georges Pompidou, MAST & MAMbo Bologna, Palais de Tokyo, Kunstwerk Carlshütte, etc). Depuis 2014, elle enseigne périodiquement à l'Institut Supérieur des Arts de Toulouse. En 2015, elle termine Changement de décor, deuxième volet de la trilogie initiée avec JJA, présenté entre autres aux États généraux du film documentaire de Lussas, et co-fonde le collectif de production horizontal Elinka Films au sein duquel elle produit ses propres films et ceux d'autres artistes et cinéastes telles Charlotte Bayer-Broc, Clémentine Roy, Deborah Stratman, Elsa Brès ou Lila Pinell. En 2020, JA — qui vient clore la trilogie — est en compétition au Cinéma du Réel et Voin, portrait d'un homme à travers son retour en Bulgarie, reçoit notamment le prix Alice Guy au FID Marseille. En 2022, son dernier film, Margot & Vanessa, qui s'intéresse à la relation entre une artiste française vivant à Berlin et sa fille adolescente, est en première au festival du cinéma de Brive. Ses films sont également présents dans les collections du Centre National des Arts Plastiques.
EN - As an artist and filmmaker, her films, at the frontier of genres and experiments, focus on people or communities whose stories, marked by migration, resonate with particular historical, social and political situations. In 2010, her first film, Gone to Croatan, made with a community of ravers, was exhibited at the Paris Museum of Modern Art. Her second film, JJA - the first part of a trilogy - is a portrait of a tax exile in Switzerland. It received a Grand Prix mention at the FID 2012, the Grand Prix at the Côté Court festival, and was also screened in several international art institutions (Kunsthalle Mannheim, Centre Georges Pompidou, MAST & MAMbo Bologna, Palais de Tokyo, Kunstwerk Carlshütte, etc). Since 2014, she teaches at the Toulouse Higher Institute of Arts (IsdaT). In 2015, she completed Change of scenery, the second part of the trilogy initiated with JJA, presented among others at the États généraux du film documentaire in Lussas, and co-founded the horizontal production collective Elinka Films in which she produces her own films and those of other artists filmmakers. In 2020, JA - which closes the trilogy - is in competition at Cinéma du Réel and Voin, a portrait of a man through his return to Bulgaria, receives the Alice Guy prize at FID Marseille. In 2022, her last film, Margot & Vanessa, the portrait of a mother-daughter relationship, premiered at the Brive Film Festival. Her films are also part of the collections of the Centre National des Arts Plastiques.
